Every Zhu Zhu Pet has his or her own distinctive personality, and Winkie, the black & white hamster is no exception.
A brand new member of the furball family, Winkie is a chilled-out chap who is only interested in spending quality time with his best buddies. Unlike Scoodles, he’s not an explorer and the constant need to be on the move totally confuses this laid-back hamster. He should get on pretty well with relaxed surfer dude Chunk!
As with all the other adult Zhu Zhu hamsters, Winkie has three different modes that allow him to amuse and entertain kids: explore, talk, and sleep. Each is activated by pressing a button on a different part of Winkie’s body and makes him a fun, interactive toy and a great substitute for the real thing.
Explore is the exciting, movement-based mode and shows the Zhu Zhu Hamsters at their craziest! Press the button on Winkie’s back and he’ll take off along the floor thanks to his motorised wheels. If he happens to bump into something along the way, the button on the front of his nose makes him back up and change direction with an exclamation of ‘oops!’ as he dashes off. If you want to slow the pace down a bit, activate sleep mode by pressing the back button again.
Talk is the nurturing mode and is activated by pressing the button on Winkie’s head. He can coo, chirp and make all sorts of contented purring noises for around a minute, after which he’ll go to sleep. It’s all quite simple but pretty ingenious too!
